(Not 100% politics) Automation and its interaction with the Economy

Automation is a huge killer of industrial jobs, yet it raises the human standard of life and drives both our economy and our progress forward? What is the correct solution?

I personally believe automation should be stressed as much as possible, but to prevent the resulting problems of unemployment, a UBI or other income system should be added.
